EU4PFM, together with the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, held an Induction Training for new auditors – a workshop designed to help newcomers take their first professional steps as public auditors.

Developed with the support of EU4PFM Programme Component 5, the training introduced participants to the INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements (IFPP), which form the foundation of public-sector auditing worldwide. The workshop covered the essence of financial, performance, and compliance audits, as well as the principles of quality management, ethics, and professional competence, all of which ensure credibility and trust in audit results.

The event was opened by Olha Pischanska, Chair of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, who welcomed the participants and underlined the importance of professionalism, integrity, and continuous development for the new generation of public auditors.

Inguna Sudraba, EU4PFM Component 5 Team Leader, highlighted the significance of the training:

“This day marks an important milestone – the beginning of a professional journey in public audit. The aim of the training is to help participants understand how the Accounting Chamber’s audit system operates and how ISSAI standards guide auditors’ daily work in financial, compliance, and performance audits. It is essential not only to know the principles but to believe in the mission of public audit – to uphold integrity, accountability, and public trust in the work of the Accounting Chamber. Each new auditor contributes to strengthening confidence in public institutions and to building a culture of responsible governance.”

The workshop featured expert speakers, highly respected professionals with years of audit experience, who shared hands-on knowledge and guidance on integrity, independence, and professional growth. Their enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring demonstrated a strong commitment to preparing the next generation of auditors to uphold the highest standards of public service.

Through this induction programme, the Accounting Chamber and EU4PFM continue to strengthen Ukraine’s public audit system and further advance professionalism, accountability, and citizens’ trust in the management of public finances.
