Three-day EU4PFM training for public procurement lecturers kicks off in Uzhhorod
Today, Uzhhorod hosted the launch of the training “Public Procurement – a Strategic Area for the Development of the National Economy During and After the War”, organised by experts of Procurement Component of the EU4PFM Programme in cooperation with the Public Procurement Department of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The event brought together representatives of higher educational institutions across Ukraine who are involved in training future public procurement professionals.
On the first day of the training, EU4PFM experts and the Ministry of Economy presented modern approaches to the development of the procurement sector and shared practices for preparing future specialists. Participants also took part in practical sessions focused on integrating public procurement disciplines into university curricula.
In the welcome speech, Eriks Mezalis, Team Leader of Procurement Component, highlighted the key principles of a healthy approach to procurement:
- Strive for optimal, not perfect outcomes
- Always know what the market has to offer
- Try to build a good reputation
- Oppose the approach of ‘we will tell afterwards’
- Take the responsibility, avoid ‘letter wars’
- Make the procurement look attractive
The training aims to strengthen the synergy between higher education, the Ministry of Economy’s policy, and harmonised public procurement legislation.
