EU4PFM confirms its readiness to provide further support to the Ministry of Finance during the screening process and in the modernisation of the budget process in general

First Deputy Minister of Finance Denys Uliutin chaired a meeting with the EU4PFM Team Leader Jurgita Domeikiene and the Project experts at the Ministry of Finance to discuss international experience and preparations for the official screening under the negotiated chapter 32 , “Financial Control,” and the area of “Public Administration Reform,” which will soon take place in Brussels.

Denys Uliutin expressed gratitude to the EU4PFM team for their comprehensive support: “I am grateful to your team for its ongoing assistance and for developing the necessary preconditions for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. We continue to work together on the transformation of the tax and customs authorities and the development of management accountability in line with European standards. We have also made significant progress in developing a new, modern IT system for planning and monitoring the execution of the state budget.”

During the meeting, the parties discussed further plans and tasks related to the modernisation of the budget process, including the exchange of knowledge and experience in budgeting.

For her part, EU4PFM Team Leader Jurgita Domeikiene assured the Ministry of Finance of continued support in aligning the Ukrainian budgetary system with European standards: “We are ready for further cooperation and to assist the Ministry in processing the recommendations from the European Commission, which will be received after the screening,” Ms. Domeikiene highlighted.
