EU4PFM and the State Customs Service launch cooperation on internal audit

EU4PFM Expert on Public Internal Financial Control Manfred van Kesteren held a kick-off meeting with representatives of the State Customs Service (SCS) Internal Audit and International Cooperation Departments. The participants established their cooperation and explored practical ways to support the development of internal audit within the Service.

SCS representatives presented the current state of internal audit in their institution and outlined areas where they need additional support from EU4PFM to enhance effectiveness and capacity.

As a starting point, EU4PFM and the SCS discussed organising a series of targeted training sessions for the SCS Internal Audit Department. The training will focus on strengthening practical skills in testing audit controls, applying audit procedures, and using sampling techniques. To ensure maximum relevance and impact, SCS will share real cases from their practice, and EU4PFM will use them to design hands-on sessions tailored to daily work needs.

This cooperation supports the further development of internal control systems in Ukraine and alignment of internal audit practices with EU standards.
