EU4PFM continues practical financial audit trainings, bringing auditors closer to the final stages of the audit process

As the EU4PFM financial audit training programme continued, participants moved another step closer to the final stages of the audit process, where analysis, evidence, and professional judgement come together to support well-founded audit conclusions.

On 27 May, auditors from two groups took part in Module 8 Working Documents, focusing on one of the essential building blocks of audit quality. Through practical exercises, participants worked on developing audit programmes, documenting audit procedures, and ensuring a clear link between identified risks, audit evidence, and audit conclusions.

A day later, team leaders of financial audit teams learned the complexities of public sector consolidation during Module 7 Process Description: Consolidation. The training looked at how financial information is brought together across institutions, how reporting and budget execution are connected, and why understanding the consolidation process is key to identifying risks and designing an effective audit response.

The learning continued on 1 June with Module 9 Working Documents , where auditors focused on turning audit results into well-supported conclusions. Participants strengthened their skills in documenting misstatements, assessing their impact on financial statements, and preparing audit conclusions that are both evidence-based and clear.

With each training, the programme continues to combine technical knowledge with practical experience, helping auditors build confidence in applying international audit standards to real-life situations.
