EU4PFM supports the development of audit teams of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine through practical training
EU4PFM Component 5 “External Audit and Parliamentary Oversight” continues the rollout of its comprehensive training programme for the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, bringing together auditors and team leaders in an increasingly dynamic learning environment.
The trainings are now taking place in the newly renovated training space modernised with EU4PFM support — a multifunctional environment created to encourage collaboration, and practical learning.
On 7 May, audit team leaders participated in Module 2 focused on the Group Audit Approach and Materiality Setting. The training covered the audit of group financial statements, helping participants identify key risks and significant components while building a clear and structured audit perspective. Through practical case-based exercises, participants strengthened their understanding of how materiality and risk assessment shape effective audit planning.
The programme continued on 11 May with Module 3 on Preliminary Analytical Procedures, delivered to two groups of auditors. Participants worked on analysing consolidated financial information and its components, identifying unusual fluctuations and areas of increased audit risk, assessing consistency between component and consolidated data, and using analytical procedures to support further audit planning.
On 12 May, Audit Team Leaders continued their learning journey with Module 3 dedicated to Understanding the Audited Entity. The focus was on developing a deeper understanding of audited entities in order to better identify risks of material misstatement and build a more effective and targeted audit approach.
The trainings are organised jointly by the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine and EU4PFM Component 5 experts. This collaborative approach is also helping to build sustainable in-house training capacity within the ACU, supporting long-term professional development and knowledge sharing.
