From 19 to 21 March, Oksana Kamianetska, EU4PFM Component 2 Public Procurement Expert, joined the Ukrainian delegation to the World Trade Organisation Committee on Government Procurement (Geneva, Switzerland).

The State Customs Service of Ukraine has officially joined the ranks of organizations using the Whistleblower Reporting Portal. This significant step forward aligns with the country's commitment to combat corruption and promote transparency. It provides a secure platform for individuals to report instances of corruption or corruption-related offenses, including the option for anonymous submissions.

This edition provides insights drawn from EU member states as well as the UK and third countries about the integration of budget and accounting classifications, characteristics of coding systems, organisation of the codes, the recommended model for future developments, and initial proposals for Ukraine.

Last year, EU4PFM held a series of workshops on Public Sector Accounting for the Ministry of Finance. In a Q&A format, we are launching a new rubric to spotlight pivotal insights from these sessions that could be valuable for PSA experts.

Last week, EU4PFM international short-term experts Kristina Jokubaityte-Revutiene and Ieva Vizgirdiene conducted working sessions with the State Tax Service (STS) and the State Customs Service (SCS).

On February 29, Kyiv hosted a kick-off meeting of the Ministry of Finance and the State Customs Service with the management of the EU Public Finance Management Support Program (EU4PFM) and representatives of the Ministry of Finance Reform Support Team regarding the development of a new Customs Code of Ukraine based on the EU Customs Code. The development of the document is aimed at fulfilling the requirements for Ukraine as a candidate country for joining the EU.

Today in Kyiv, the leadership of the EU Program for the Support of Public Finance Management (EU4PFM) met with representatives of the State Customs Service to discuss the algorithm of actions to support customs reform by EU4PFM aimed at fulfilling the requirements for Ukraine as a candidate country for EU membership.

The meeting between the leadership of the State Tax Service (STS) and EU4PFM marked significant steps in collaboration to improve services for taxpayers.

On February 28, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, with support from the EU4PFM Project, hosted a conference titled "Public Internal Financial Control: Perspectives for the Future."

The EU4PFM Team embarked on a three-day mission to Kyiv to meet with Partner Institutions and discuss current progress, priority areas for further cooperation in budget, customs, tax, and IT streams, and future plans to support Ukraine's successful accession to the EU.
