EU4PFM Procurement Component continues to work closely with the Ministry of Economy toward the harmonisation of legislation

During a working visit to Kyiv, Eriks Mezalis, the EU4PFM Procurement Component Team Leader, together with Project experts, met with Valeriy Shergin, the Head of the Public Procurement Department of the Ministry of Economy, to discuss the progress of ongoing cooperation.

Among the key topics were: support for the Ministry in the screening, adoption of the draft procurement law in the first reading, as well as results in the professionalisation stream. Parties also outlined the framework for future events, including an upcoming study visit and regional training sessions on public procurement.

During the meeting, Eriks Mezalis assured the Partners of the Project’s continued support in aligning Ukrainian legislation with the EU acquis and preparing the Ukrainian procurement system for EU accession.
