EU4PFM successfully concludes regional workshops on Public Procurement

On December 6, the EU4PFM Component 2 “Public Procurement” and the Ministry of Economy successfully wrapped up a series of regional training sessions for public purchasers.

The final workshop of the year took place in Zhytomyr, bringing together participants from Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions.

These training sessions form a key part of a joint awareness-raising campaign by EU4PFM and the Ministry of Economy. Their primary objective is to equip procurement professionals with the knowledge and tools to enhance Ukraine’s public procurement system, particularly in light of the country’s EU accession process.

The workshop traditionally focused on:

The event’s regular lecturers were representatives of the leadership from the Public Procurement and Competition Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy, Tetiana Mishta and Svitlana Slinchak, EU4PFM legal experts Oleksandr Shatkovskyi and Sergii Yaremenko, as well as Yevhen Kostenko, Deputy Director of the Department for Appeals against Public Procurement Decisions of the Antimonopoly Committee.

The active participation and positive feedback from participants highlighted a strong interest in these topics. The sessions proved invaluable in clarifying complex legal issues and equipping public purchasers with new knowledge. At the end of the event, all participants received certificates.

Building on the success of this year’s series, EU4PFM plans to continue this training initiative in 2025 in order to support public procurement professionals in their roles.
