The EU4PFM project has presented its interim Progress Report on Component 5 during the first meeting of its Steering Committee, highlighting major achievements in strengthening the institutional and operational capacity of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine (ACU) and enhancing collaboration with the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget.

On May 12, the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, together with the EU4PFM Project and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, held a high-level meeting to align on priorities for the assistance from the EU4PFM Project.

Preparation and capacity building of state authorities to attract and work with EU funds, including available opportunities, audits, transparency, and accountability. Principles of building multilateral agreements and their implementation.

The practical results of the State Tax Service’s digital transformation were discussed during a meeting between Dragan Jeremic, EU4PFM International IT Expert and Nataliia Kalenichenko, Deputy Head of the STS for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation.

This week, EU4PFM Component 5 «External audit and parliamentary oversight» launched the first module of a comprehensive training series designed to enhance the knowledge of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine in applying modern, risk-based approaches to financial audit.

At the EU4PFM roundtable “Two Perspectives, One Goal: Promoting Cooperation between External and Internal Audit”, held on 16 April 2025 in Kyiv, EU4PFM International Expert on PIFC, Manfred van Kesteren, contributed to the discussion on building effective cooperation between internal and external audit.

Kyiv, April 16, 2025 — EU4PFM today hosted the eighth high-level seminar in its established series titled “Two Perspectives, One Goal: Promoting Cooperation Between External and Internal Audit.”

As Ukraine advances on its path toward EU accession, aligning with international standards and best practices is a critical requirement under Chapter 32 of the Acquis Communautaire. 

First Deputy Minister of Finance Denys Uliutin, Deputy Minister Oleksandr Hrubiian, and State Secretary of the Ministry Dmytro Samonenko met with Jurgita Domeikiene, Team Leader of Components 1, 3, and 4 of the EU4PFM Programme, to discuss the work plan for developing an updated Public Finance Management Strategy and continuing analytical, technical, and expert support for the Ministry of Finance.

Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, EU4PFM has provided the Ministry with tangible support, in particular through its emergency assistance initiative.
