Work has begun to develop a new IT system for budget planning and monitoring
On March 14, the representatives from the Ministry of Finance, State Institution “Open Public Finance,” Central Project Management Agency, and EU4PFM international experts met to discuss the project implementation plan in detail.
The software system will automate the exchange of data between all parties involved in budget planning, execution, and monitoring processes.
“We are pleased to announce that we are launching software development for budget planning and monitoring. This will be the largest project in our cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, and I am grateful for such an important achievement,” said EU4PFM Team Leader Jurgita Domeikiene.
Deputy Minister of Finance Oleksandr Hrubiian thanked the partners for their cooperation and noted, «The IT component of the Ukrainian budget system needs modernisation, and the Ministry of Finance has all the capabilities to successfully implement this project. An IT solution on a modern information platform should be well integrated into the budget planning process and contribute to positive transformations in the field of public finance management».
To ensure successful project implementation, a working group has been created to be fully involved in all stages, including the coordination of technical tasks, technical operation, cooperation with key spending units, and evaluation of intermediate results after each module.
The project is planned to be implemented within 20 months.
