Press briefing on the prospects for the introduction of “customs visa-free” in 2022 – Ukraine’s accession to the Convention on a Common Transit Procedure
On November 25, at 13.30 in the premises of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (11 G Degtyarivska Street), a press briefing “Preliminary assessment mission for Ukraine’s accession to the Convention on a common transit procedure and NCTS – Ukraine’s progress and next steps” will be held.
The speakers of the briefing are as following:
- Yuriy Draganchuk, Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine for European Integration;
- Vladyslav Suvorov, Deputy Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine;
- Serhiy Demchenko, Director of the Department for Implementation of the International Transit System of the State Customs Service of Ukraine;
- Michael Rathje, Head of the Preliminary Assessment Mission of the signatory countries to the Convention on the Common Transit Procedure, of the Transit Division of the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union of the European Commission (DG TAXUD);
- representative of the European delegation in Ukraine and others.
Moderator of the meeting: Oksana Nikanorova, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Coordinator of Customs Reforms of the Reform Support Team of the Ministry of Finance.
The event will highlight Ukraine’s progress and plans to implement the rules of the Convention and NCTS, the preliminary results of the mission, and expectations from Ukraine for successful accession to the system.
