Ukraine is steadily integrating into the EU customs space.

On October 1, 2022, Ukraine became a full member country of the Convention on a Common Transit Procedure and the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods. In its turn, the State Customs Service, with the support of EU4PFM, continues to further implement European integration measures aimed at simplification of formalities and minimizing time and effort when crossing the border.

Recently, the project provided the SCS with 200 barcode scanners for reading data from customs declarations to be integrated into the customs IT system. The barcode readers are now used by customs officers at checkpoints to scan barcodes on customs declarations which significantly speeds up customs procedures.

We are sincerely glad to be a part of the changes and to support customs initiatives that contribute to European integration processes, especially during these trying times and will support further on.
